It soon became clear that it was not just a wayward log drifting in the water and that infact it was dolphin.

Fears for the safety of Blackrock newly made aquatic friend arose, as it was realised that the tide was soon to go out, and that the pair might face being stranded, a potentially fatal situation for a dolphin.

The Dundalk Sub Aqua were called, and they managed to convince one of the dolphins with a bit of cajouling that to go further out to sea.

However the second dolphin needed more convincing, and was eventually thrown into the back of the rubber inflatable and taken at top speed out to the open water.
