MEMBERS of the local community who are interested in alternative therapies are being invited to attend an upcoming ‘energy healing’ session.

The Reiki session will take place in The Outcomers’ Building, which is located near Mullen’s in Roden Place, on Tuesday, April 24 from 10.30am to 1.30pm.

According to Ravensdale based Reiki teacher and practitioner, Dolores Whelan, Reiki is an ancient form of energy healing, rediscovered in Japan at the beginning of the 20th century.

“Reiki energy is a high vibration healing energy, which when channelled in hands on healing sessions can bring a person back into balance, wellness and wholeness,” she said.

Dolores has hosted a monthly Reiki group in her home for the past seven years. Several members of the group are now offering Reiki sessions at low cost to anyone in the local community who might be interested.

Reiki is non-invasive and involves little or no touch. It is given to a person who is seated or lying down (fully clothed). Sessions last between 30 and 60 minutes.

“We ask for a donation of between e7 and e10 per session to cover our costs. Nobody will be refused because of lack of money,” said Dolores.

For further information on the April 24 session telephone Mary on 087-3525383; Dolores on 042-9371901; or Linda on 085-1080493 or come along on Tuesday, April 24.

Dolores is hosting a First degree Reiki training course on Saturday, April 21 and Sunday, April 22. Details are available online via www.doloreswhelan.ie.
