Louth people encouraged to bake a cupcakes for National Cupcake Week

National Cupcake week is being held from the 2nd until the 6th July 2012 and people are encourage to start baking and even host a few cupcake parties

National Cupcake week is being held from the 2nd until the 6th July 2012 and people are encourage to start baking and even host a few cupcake parties

The week which is being organised by Aramark is an attemptt o get people back into home baking. Throughoutt he week the company will be selling cupcakes across all of its food services sites throughout Ireland.

Proceeds from the sales will go into the company’s charitable fund which helps The Marie Keating Foundation, Croi cardiac foundation Marie Curie cancer care and Cork Simon community. The Marie Keating foundation is the chosen charity for the Eastern region.

The Marie Keating Foundation was set by the Keating family after the death of their mother Marie in 1998 because of breast cancer. The foundation educates both men and women about seevral different types of cancer including breast,bowel, cervical,lung,liver,skin, prostate and testicular cancer. The Marie keating Foundation focuses on cancers that are affected by lifestyle choices and the foundation nurseswork to ensure thatpeople are made aware of a healthy lifestyle and early detection being key to recovery.

People are also being encouraged to hold cupcake parties throughout the week either at home or at work to raise money for the charities. To date over €15,000 has been raised and Aramrk hope to increase this amount with the help of people from Louth. .
