DR Luke Redmond is set to present a talk on climate change policy at Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) on Monday, April 23 at 4pm.
The talk will cover EU climate change policy, in particular the innovative Emission Trading Scheme through which polluting industries trade carbon emissions.
The role of the renewable energy sector will also be discussed. According to the organisers, the renewable energy sector provides an opportunity for significant reductions in emissions and has considerable potential in Ireland.
This event is part of a series of public lectures being undertaken nationwide by the UCD School of Geography, Planning and Environmental Policy to update the public about environmental research undertaken in UCD.
It also coincides with the recent launch of a new graduate masters programme, MSc in Environmental Policy, commencing in the School of Geography, Planning and Environmental Policy this coming September.
Entry is free of charge and all are welcome to attend. For details contact Craig Bullock by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
