IRISH dancer and Prodijig member Darren Casey is hoping to return to Dundalk by the end of the week to celebrate winning the final of Got To Dance, Britain’s biggest national dance competition.

The 22-year-old from Fatima told The Dundalk Democrat that he is looking forward to coming home for a few days to see family and friends. Darren also said that he would like to thank his supporters and everyone in the local community who voted for him.

“It has been amazing. I am totally gobsmacked and overwhelmed. It still doesn’t seem real. I can’t believe this has happened. It’s a dream. I keep asking people to pinch me because it all seems so unreal,” said Darren.

“Hopefully, we will have a nice party at home. We weren’t able to go too mad after winning the show because we had a lot of press to do the following day including an appearance on Sky News.

“I hope to use the few days at home to rest a bit too. I am shattered and my legs need a rest. We were dancing together six hours per day, seven days per week in the run up to the final.
