Eadaoin McCrave is a 12 year old kickboxing student from Haggardstown Dundalk, she has been training with the irish Martial Arts Academy in williamsons Mall over the last 2 and half years.

In that short space of time Eadaoin has won numerous national competitions and titles.

However last year she competed at the WAKO European Kickboxing Championships in Poland and secured a silver medal for her country in the younger cadet open hand forms division.

To add to that success as recently as 2 weeks ago Eadaoin represented kickboxing Ireland again at the WAKO World championships in Rimini Italy, once again securing Silver in the open hand forms division. Eadaoin also competed in the cadet girls under 12 -47kg Semi-contact division where she was beaten in the 1/4 Final by the more experienced and eventual winner from Germany.

Eadaoins Chief Instructor Eamon Lawlor is not surprised at Eadaoins success in Kickbixing as she trains between three and five times a week depending on the competition.

Eamon added to represent Kickboxing Ireland at a WAKO event is an achievement in itself as its the most prestigious of the federations in the world.

In fact Kickboxing Ireland is the only kickboxing organisation recognised by the Irish sports council.

Eadaoin has already set her sights on the European championships next year to be held in Spain. You can follow Eadaoin and her fellow students on the irish martial arts facebook page, the club train in williamsons mall Mon/wed/fri/sat, and in the cooley hall tue/thur/sat.

New students are always welcome with the first week free of charge.

For a closer look at kickboxing and a chance to see national champions in action there is a first ever tournament to be held in the fairways hotel on sunday November 2nd, starting at 11am more details can be found on the irish martial arts academy facebook page.
