Fine Gael councillor Linus English launched his election campaign in Blackrock well supported by family and friends. Linus gave up the taxi business he founded after almost 22 years when he was involved in a serious road traffic accident in 2007. He is currently a full time public representative and is hoping to continue representing the people of Dundalk-South in the new county council set-up.
Supporting his campaign launch was Fine Gael senator Jim D’Arcy whom Linus replaced when Jim joined an Seanad. Linus has worked with Jim D’Arcy since he was first elected in 1999. Linus says he has a strong desire to help people. “I enjoy getting out there and talking to people about local issues. I enjoy being rooted in the community. I get a great feeling when I can help people.
