Dundalk Photographic Society held their first round of in house competitions for the advanced and senior photographers within the club.
After much though and inspection a mono chrome image titled ‘Laytown Races’ was selected, the judge said that he felt that the image had captured all the excitement and ambiance of such an event.
This image was captured by photographer Declan Gernon, who comes from Bridge a Crinn.
The end of September is the time of the year that sees the DPS official weekend away, and this year was no different, with the club choosing Co. Clare at the focus of their attentions.
The photographers from the club descended on the unsuspecting town of Ennis with shutters ready, filters in place waiting for the first rays of day light to glance off the landscapes of the Burren and the Atlantic cliffs.
Some places are still available at the photography classes, which take place every Wednesday from 8pm on the second floor over Mc Geoghs Pub in Roden Place. Visit www.dundalkphoto.com.
