Eleven year old Eadaoin Mc Crave from Haggardstown has been busy preparing for the up coming WAKO European Cadets and Juniors Championships which will take place in Krynica-Zdroj, Poland this September.

Eadaoin, who attends St Furseys National School, joined The Irish Martial Arts Academy 18 months ago and has loved it from day one.

Over the last year Eadaoin has entered numerous competitions around Ireland for her club and won the Northern Ireland Open held in Ballymena last summer before qualifying for the Irish team taking part in the WAKO European Championships.

Eadaoin had been training at her local martial arts club for three days a week with her coach, Eamon Lawlor but has now upped her training days to four in preparation for the competition in September.

Outside of martial arts, Eadaoin plays Gaelic for her local club the Geraldines which she really enjoys but martial arts is number one on her list of priorities.

There will be a big fundraising night in the Fairways Hotel on Friday, July 12 to help raise funds for Eadaoin’s trip to Poland for WAKO European Championships.

The fundraiser is called ‘Stars in Your Eyes’ and will include acts such as Elvis, Lulu, Beatles, One Direction, Rod Steward and many more.

Tickets cost 15 euros and include a chicken curry supper.

Tickets can be purchased from Alisha McCrave at 0863440804, Patsy Rogers at 0876677811 or the Fairways Hotel at 0429321500.
