A local business in the centre of Dundalk has suffered a second burglary in just over a month.

A local business in the centre of Dundalk has suffered a second burglary in just over a month.

A side window in Panama Coffee on the Square was smashed in a near identical breakdown to one which occured just over a month earlier.

On Saturday night thieves smashed through a side window before taking a laptop and a speakers from the premises.

The crime was a near carbon copy of a similar break-in that occured just a over a month previously, when criminals smashed through a full length window to gain entry to the popular coffee shop.

Staff were shocked at the break-in, after they were informed by Gardaí that it had occured early on Sunday morning.

Such incidences are becoming increasingly common in the town centre.

It is not clear whether or not the culprits were the same as the previous ones or if it was simply a copy cat crime.

Gardaí are investigating incident and would like anyone with any information to come forward..

Speaking to the Dundalk Democrat a spokesperson for the Gardaí said that they are “keeping an open mind” as to whether or not the culprits were the same that had targeted the coffee shop previously.
