Scoil Grásta have confirmed to the Dundalk Democrat that they intend to use the Keytronics building for the new school year pending planning permission.

The school is currently on the Coes Road .

“We have working on getting this site all year,” Head Teacher Catherine Duff said. “It was always our plan to leave the Coes Road and we hope with this great new building we can expand and attract more pupils to the school.”

The system of teaching at the school is based on a more individual, one-to-one basis and they cater for both primary and secondary school.

“It’s great that it will be put to use. There has been a significant amount of vandalism at the site. People had tried to get into the building and even tried to set it alight.”

“There were people also sleeping rough on site.”

Workers have sinced moved in to clean up the site.
