The Dundalk Musical Society have been busy preparing for their new show as they are once again preparing to take to the stage and entertain both young and old.
Their latest offering ‘An Evening of Lloyd Webber and Friends’ will feature an array of wonderful songs and music written by the maestro himself who this year celebrates 40 years of success in the West End.
It promises to be a great night and the cast have been working hard to get everything just right at rehearsals which started in February.
Shows which will feature on the night are Phantom of the Opera, Evita, Whistle Down the Wind and Sunset Boulevard to name but a few.
Also making a return to the stage for one night only will be the wonderful cast of last October’s The Sound Of Music, a show which was re-launched by Andrew Lloyd Webber in 2006 after his hugely successful search for Maria, in the hit TV show ‘How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?’
This Cabaret style concert will also feature a programme of well known and well loved musicals such as Oklahoma, Calamity Jane, Showboat, South Pacific, High Society, The Lion King and Les Miserables.
It guarantees to have something to suit everyone’s musical theatre taste.
The group have never failed to deliver and in January they also ran a successful pantomime for six nights in An Tain Theatre which featured an amazing cast of local talent, with over 80 children and young adults taking to the stage as members of the chorus, whose singing and dancing enchanted audiences and transported them to the village of Happyville.
The night will undoubtedly be another success for the group and will take place on Friday, May 3, in the Crowne Plaza Hotel at 8pm.
Tickets are priced at 12 euros and are available from any cast member, The Crowne Plaza Hotel, or at the door on the night.
