Dundalk dancer Emmanuella Salako from the Avenue Road was lucky enough to meet One Direction backstage after their concert in the O2 last week.
The local choreographer has been friends with Niall Horan for years after they met through a mutual friend.
“Niall is a friend of mine and I used to do shows with him before he became famous”, Emmanuella explained, “my friend used to be his manager and called me a few years ago when Niall was performing as a support act in the Fairways.
“He needed dancers and asked me would I perform and we’ve been friends ever since and done a lot of shows together.”
Emmanuella got a text from Niall last Tuesday morning when he arrived back in Ireland asking her if she’d like to go to the show.
“I said yes of course and when we got there he had VIP family tickets waiting for us which gave us access to all areas.”
Emmanuella got a shock the next day when Niall text her again and asked her if she wanted to come to the second show.
“He text me asking me to come back to the last show because he didn’t know when he would get a chance to see me again and there was going to be a great after party when they finished the last concert.
“I didn’ think I’d be going to one show, let alone two in a row!
“The show itself was great and really emotional as I knew it was a dream come true for Niall.
“He had always said he would love to play the O2 in Dublin and the atmosphere was crazy with girls screaming his name. I was so happy for him”.
Emmanuella got to meet each member of the band and says that they are all lovely.
“I have met Harry before and I know him through his cousin.
“He is mad and loves partying, he had a great night on Wednesday.
“He even stayed on in Ireland for two extra days with Niall and they went out in Dublin.
“It was great seeing Niall again and I’ve had a great time over the past few days.”
