Local band 2Minutes2Midnight have spent most of their recent time touring and bringing their music to various venues around Ireland including Whelans in Dublin and award winning venue Monroes in Galway city.

Local band 2Minutes2Midnight have spent most of their recent time touring and bringing their music to various venues around Ireland including Whelans in Dublin and award winning venue Monroes in Galway city.

“This week we are busy filming three videos with director Cillian Fearon from UCD”, Damien McKenna, the lead vocalist of the band, told the Democrat.

“I can’t really give too much away about the videos themselves right now as it is a surprise”!

The band, who first formed in 2010, are sometimes mistaken for an Iron Maidin tribute band becuase of their name.

“2Minutes2Midnight is the name of an Iron Maidin song but we actually got the name from a dream our guitarist had”!

The band are releasing their second EP ‘How Did This Happen’ in well renowned Dundalk venue the Spirit Store on April 5, but those looking to hear the album before then can pop into Janck and Jones in the Marshes Centre to pick up a copy for 5 euros. It is also available on iTunes.

“We are really looking forward to the gig in the Spirit Store next month and will have some special guests performing with us but I can’t reveal who they are yet”.

Tickets to the gig cost 6 euro or 8 euro with an EP. Those who purchase tickets on the door will get a free EP.
