Musical duo Lora and Amy, who live in Dundalk, will play a full 90 minute show on Friday March 1st at 23 Seats Cafe, 8 Crowe Street, Dundalk.
The girls will perform some new original songs and will play a collection of their covers. The gig is free into, however a donation of a few euro on the night for the act would be very much appreciated. The gig promises to be a great event and will start at 8.30pm.
The duo act who comprise of Lora Gilbert on vocals and Amy Walsh on guitar/harmony, play covers mostly but are currently working on writing their own material.
The girls are from Balbriggan in Co. Dublin but now live in Dundalk as they are currently in their second year in college studying Applied Music at Dundalk Institute of Technology.
They have known each other since 2008/2009 and use to mess about with the guitar and sing with all of their friends.
When they realised something they both wanted to do was play gigs and perform they decided to get together and start a duo.
They both sing (Lora doing main vocals) and Amy plays guitar.
The first gig they did together was ‘Balbriggan’s Got Talent’ where they placed 3rd, and they have been playing gigs ever since in pubs, cafés, competitions, college assessments, radio stations (WDAR), and festivals (Ballyfermot Rocks Festival).
The singing duo have also been given studio time in DkIT in the past.
The girls are now planning on doing a lot more during 2013 so watch this space.
