IT was a great night of reminescence for the members of St Mary’s 1987 minor team when they held a 25th anniversary night at the Railway Bar Ardee recently.

This was the team that won the 1987 Louth Minor Championship.

The panel of players, mentors, trainers and supporters and their partners were all invited and a video of the final was played on the night.

This was a great chance to reunite and reminisce with friends from 25 years ago.

The Ardee team that won the 1987 Louth Minor Championship was: Barry Keenan, Paul Diamond, Conor McCormack, Barry Higgins, Derek Breagy, Martin Sweeney, Peter Kerin, Michael Malone, Martin Duffy, Ian McGauley, Derek Gillespie, Brian Scott, Shane Rogers, Kevin Commins and Mickey Rooney.

There was indeed a great deal to talk about. So much has changed in the past 25 years. The club’s facilities has changed so much. There are now all-weather pitchs.

St. Mary’s GFC offers a multiple state-of-the-art astroturf, floodlit, and partitioned pitches, available to everyone to rent by the hour. These superb football pitches are supported by their fantastic clubhouse with changing facilities, and a substantial car park. The state-of-the-art pitch facilities are made from synthetic grass and are completely covered over with nets, so there is no need to go after footballs.
