€4,568 was raised by the club after Shave or Dye Night in Sláns pub Annagassan

Their most recent success was the highly popular Today FM Shave or Dye Night in Sláns pub Annagassan.

Fourteen brave volunteers from Sláns and Togher Macra na Feirme stepped up to the chair and had their heads shaved and dyed in aid of the Irish Cancer Society.

“Altogether we managed to raise €4,568,” said club PRO Ailbhe Rogers who is also the Macra PRO for county Louth

“This was an amazing achievement so well done to everyone who sponsored or donated money. That money is going towards a very worthy cause.

“We would also like to thank David McAfee for orgainising the event, everyone who helped on the night and Sláns pub for the music and finger food afterwards. It was a brilliant night!

“We also organised a day out at the races at Fairyhouse on Easter Monday for Togher Macra and friends.

“It too was an enjoyable day for all but many of us came home with our pockets feeling considerably lighter!

“We’d like to thank JF Travel for driving us around in style!

Louth Macra has just been commended by AIB for their contribution to the development of the county’s rural communities.

Last Togher’s Nicholas Butterly won the ‘AIB Best New Macra Member’ category.
