The public have been warned to be vigilant after a car was set alight while its owner was walking in Ravensdale forest last week.
The incident happened last Thursday in the picturesque area of Ravensdale.
The owner of the Mercedes returned from a walk in the forest at 4.30pm and was shocked to find that the car had been set alight.
Gardai believe that a rock was used to smash the window of the car before it was torched.
A passport, camera and a handbag had been stolen from the car.
Dromad gardai are investigating the incident and anybody with information is asked to contact them on 042-9358680.
In a separate incident, the Garda Air Support Unit dispatched a helicopter in the Dundalk area late Thursday night and early Friday morning as part of an operation targetting “boy racers”.
