The outgoing Chairman of Dundalk Credit Union, Pat Muckian, told a packed and very successful AGM in the Town Hall on Tuesday night last, that “ Dundalk Credit Union Credit Union had an excellent year and maintained its position and reputation as one of the strongest Credit Unions in the Country at this time”.
Out-going Treasurer Tom D’Arcy told the meeting that “The payment of a competitive dividend on all shares while having one of the lowest personal loan rates (6.99% APR) of any Credit Union or financial institution in the country means good news for both savers and borrowers in Dundalk Credit Union”
Alan Farrelly (Farrelly Dawe White), Auditor to Dundalk Credit Union, informed the meeting that “ the strength and solid financial position of Dundalk Credit Union’s balance sheet at the 30th September 2013 meets all regulatory requirements and in fact surpasses them”. He concluded by stating that the “results for the year are a credit to the efforts of the Management, Staff and Board and are indicative of the prudent and efficient manner in which they have carried out their duties.”
The AGM re-elected the following Directors: Cecilia Dunne, Jim Lane and Sean McDonald. Brendan Harmon was re-elected to the Board Oversight Committee and Alan Farrelly was re-appointed as Auditor.
At a meeting of the new Board of Directors which was held immediately after the AGM concluded, Tom D’Arcy was elected as Chairman of Dundalk Credit Union.
Pat Donaghy was elected as Credit Union Secretary and Pat Muckian as Vice-Chairman.
In overall, and at a difficult and challenging time for many other financial institutions, Dundalk Credit Union, which has been putting the people and community of Dundalk first for over forty years, is thankfully in a very strong and secure position.
