The pupils from Scoil Mhuire na Trócaire Ardee are certainly an artistic bunch!
Once again they have swept the boards at the Annual Art Competition run by Ardee Credit Union.
Mr Pat Black, chairperson and Ms Aine McGee, Ardee Credit Union, visited the school last week to present the prizes. He commended the girls on their imaginative and artistic interpretation of the theme “Gotta Lotta Colour”.
The school runs a mini-branch of the credit union every week and pupils develop the wise habit of saving for the future.
The nine winners are listed below and the first prise winners in each category now go on to represent Ardee in the next round of this national competition.
So best wishes to Aoibhinn, Laia Rose and Sarah in the next round. Keep up the great work Scoil Mhuire na Trócaire.

Category 8-10 Years: Laia Rose Keogh, Saoirse Gilbert, Melissa Crosby.
Category 11-13 Years: Sarah Hennessy, Jasmine Carroll, Kayla Halpenny.
Pupils at Scoil Mhuire na Trócaire has also been very busy over the past few weeks filling shoeboxes full of wonderful gifts for less fortunate children, as part of Team Hope Annual Shoebox Appeal.
In total 80 shoeboxes were gathered and this fantastic result highlights the goodwill and generosity of our pupils and their families.
This project was coordinated and managed by the pupils in 6th class who give up their time to ensure all boxes were ready for collection by Roz, a local Team Hope volunteer, on the morning of Friday the 8th of November.
The girls all thoroughly enjoyed this project and gained a wonderful understanding of the hardships faced by children in developing, war torn countries.
Team Hope is an International Christian relief and development agency, which started work in Ireland in 1998.
The shoeboxes are distributed to needy children in Africa and Eastern Europe, and for many of these children the shoebox will be the only gift they receive this Christmas.
Scoil Mhuire na Trocaire pupils are to be congratulated on all this great work.
