The Taste of Carlingford festival took place last weekend and visitors flocked from all around to sample some of the wonderful local produce, served in the destination that has become well known for its dining out.
There was a great atmosphere on the streets of Carlingford and visitors were welcome to sample tastings from each restaurant.
At the Taste of Carlingford Village Bake locals presented their home baked goodies and there was old traditional dishes and recipes on offer for everyone to enjoy.
The medieval village was bursting with colourful displays and delicious aromas throughout the entire weekend, with a street food market alongside live cookery demonstrations for adults and children.
Recent runner up of the National Chowder competition, Danny Fitzpatrick, was also there as one of the chefs appearing to demonstrate his special seafood recipe.
The contrast of the contemporary and traditional continued within the family orientated activities such as the children’s Crab Fishing competition, facepainting, Kiddies Treasure Hunt, Stone Skimming and Build a Sand Castle competition.
As always the two day festival was a great success and both locals and visitors enjoyed the weekend and it’s festivities.
