The Boarder Roads to Memories Project wish to thank all who have participated in the project thus far and also putting a call out for residents to contact them if they have any artefacts and photos that may be of use to the project.
In 2013 the Border Roads to Memories and Reconciliation Project visited and photographed over 170 border crossings and interviewed and recorded 70 residents who have shared their memories of what life was like for them while the border roads were closed.
“We have facilitated 23 workshops which were attended by over 300 border residents from both communities North and South of the border,” a spokesperson explained.
“Our Project will be completed by the end of 2014 and we are very interested in any photographs, newspaper articles or video footage relating to the border road closures. If you have anything you would like to contribute to the project, please contact us.”
