Dundalk Karate travelled to compete in the Zanshin Midlands Karate Kata Tournament recently and were triumphant in each and every category they entered into.
Elizabeth Marcus came home with gold in her Individual Kata category while senior member Denise Moran not only came home with a bronze in her Individual Kata category, but she and her daughter Katie were victorious in the parent and child Kata category and came home with gold.
Fellow member Chloe Joyce showed that she is also training hard and came away with a bronze for her individual Kata category. Christopher Joyce, Katie McNamara and Liam Hoey who were entered into the under 10’s Kata category received high praise from watching Sensei’s.
“They were all under pressure,” Head of Dundalk Karate, Mary Marcus said. “But took to the tatami matts like pros and even though they didn’t manage to take home a medal they impressed me on how they can perform under immense pressure and other Sensei’s commented on how much they had improved since they saw them at an earlier competition in April.”
