Good Morning Louth is celebrating it’s recent win at the Louth Business Awards 2013.
The Age Friendly Award category, which Good Morning Louth won, is for a business who implements an age friendly service/policy and how this impacts on the older person.
Based in Seatown, Dundalk, Good Morning Louth makes daily telephone calls to older people across the county.
An excellent team of volunteers provide key information on a wide range of services.
They also listen to any problems or issues the older person wishes to talk about and suggesting other local organisations and services that could be of benefit.
This role is very important in reducing loneliness and isolation and in helping older people to stay well and safe in their home and also for the peace of mind of families.
Project coordinator, Anne Murphy said: “this is the first time Good Morning Louth has entered a competition and everyone involved is delighted with the win. Louth Age Friendly Business Awards recognise best practice in age friendly services and is known and respected across the county.
“We hope this win will help us in our drive to reach every older person in Louth, connecting them to services in the community and helping to foster wellness in later life.”
