“God’s Minister Man of the People” a radio documentary on the life and times of Father Kevin Connolly is set to air on LMFM on New Year’s Eve.
Though it’s not far off forty years since Father Kevin Connolly died his legacy as a wonderful sportsman and cleric who got things done is alive and well especially in Drogheda and Keady where the Ravensdale born priest really made his mark.
LMFM’S Gerry Kelly pieces together Kevin’s life through the eyes of the dynamic cleric’s family, sporting associates and friends who recall their memories of a man who was “way before his time”.
Kelly always wanted to remember Father Kevin who was revered in the broadcaster’s home by his late parents.
The broadcaster was fascinated by the Lourdes Stadium, Connolly’s brainchild, from the first time he went there as a young boy in the late sixties to watch Drogheda play in the League of Ireland.
So if you knew Kevin Connolly or want to find out more about a remarkable man make sure to tune in on Tuesday December 31st at 12 Noon for the hour long programme.
