Local schools for READaTHON

MS Ireland is encouraging schools in County Louth to sign up for the 26th MS READaTHON in the run up to the launch of Ireland’s biggest charity schools reading initiative. The MS READaTHON fun theme for this year aims to mobilise thousands of young ‘book-bots’ in schools around the country to read and raise funds for people with MS in their region. A host of Irish authors including Cecilia Ahern, Sarah Webb, Eoin Colfer, Derek Landy, Oisin McGann and Darren Shan will support with tips and advice for young readers and budding writers.

As this year’s MS READaTHON launches to schools, MS Ireland is congratulating local students in the 20 schools in County Louth who participated last year for their excellent contribution. The society is also highlighting the invaluable support of principals, teachers and parents. In 2012, students in County Louth raised money to support more than 457 local people with MS and their families in the North East region. The young readers joined more than 16,000 children across Ireland in last year’s MS READaTHON.
