Bobby Kerr to chair meeting

Dundalk Business Improvement Scheme (BIDS) are hosting an important meeting in the AV Theatre, Dundalk Museum on Tuesday, July 2 at 6.30pm.

Dundalk Business Improvement Scheme (BIDS) are hosting an important meeting in the AV Theatre, Dundalk Museum on Tuesday, July 2 at 6.30pm.

Dundalk, like many other regional towns has been hit hard by the current recession.

Footfall is at an all -time low, there is less money around and many businesses are on ‘survival mode ‘barely keeping their premises open.

Over the last couple of months a group of retailers across the town having been working with Dundalk BIDs in putting together a positive plan of action in place.

The group is looking for new ideas and expertise in identified work streams.

Edward Boyd of the Clanbrassil Street Centre and part of the retailer group is hoping that this ‘ meeting will galvanize the business community into action and bring a sense of common purpose’ adding ‘ we know that there is a lot of capable people out there and whilst we might have some ideas there is plenty of room for more’

The meeting will be chaired by Bobby Kerr of Dragon’s Den fame. Bobby Kerr is a well-known business man and is the Chairperson of Insomnia Coffee. He has many different business interests in food & hospitality, technology, manufacturing and retail sectors. There will also be a number of other speakers who will give brief talks.
