The O’Flynn family returned to the pharmacy business in their home town of Ardee and created 14 jobs with the opening of “The Pharmacy” in the Old McCabe’s Building on Castle Street.

“We’ve been pharmacists for 90 years and I grew up in and around our old pharmacy,” explained owner Ann O’Flynn. “So when the opportunity came up to get back into the business and to bring back all of our old staff and my father, Coleman, I could not resist.”

Everyone employed at the pharmacy has between 10-20 years experience looking after the health needs of the people of the town. Two are fully qualified pharmacists and three more are pharmacy technicians.

“Our people combine experience and a light touch,” said Ann. “If you want to talk cosmetics Joan, Maria and Melissa can help. Any niggling minor illnesses, ask Carol, Linda, Anna or Jane. And if you need to discuss your prescriptions, Ann, myself and Fiona are available.

All customers wiil be offered a free health NCT and they will have the option of having it carried out once a year, every year. Diabetes, cholesterol, anaemia, BMI and blood pressure screening is also available in the pharmacy.

“Our patients are the best and deserve the best and we will make damn sure they will get the best,” said Ann.
