A local beauty queen will represent Ireland at the Miss European Pageant which will be held in Malta later this year.

Natasha McDonagh, from Lios Dubh, Dundalk, is preparing for the week long event in November which will feature photo shoots, gala dinners and team competitions.

“It’s a whole new experience for me,” said the 17-year-old while speaking to The Dundalk Democrat this week, “I am delighted to have been selected as this is the first time I have done something like this.”

Girls from ten countries will compete in the pageant, including England, Scotland, Portugal and the Netherlands. The judges will be looking for a number of traits, including how the girls sit, walk and talk.

Natasha’s manager, Marion Little, is currently training the beauty icon. “The first time I met Natasha was at a pageant in Dublin,” said Marion, “She was everything we were looking for and will represent Ireland extremely well in the competition.”

Bernie Rice from Butterflyz & Angelz has sponsored all the dresses Natasha will wear during the competition in order to make the local girl the queen of the ball. Miss European will be chosen along with European Princess of Ireland.
