Gardai have warned motorists not to leave valuables in their car after a spate of break-ins to vehicles in the Dundalk area over the last week.

A gang of thieves are thought to have been working in and around the town last week, when a series of vehicles were broken into.

The first two incidents took place in Felda car park and the Crowne Plaza Hotel car park where both vehicles had their windows smashed in and valuables taken.

Similar incidents took place at Pearse Park, the Carrickdale Hotel and Nicholas Street in Toberona.

A Garda spokesperson asked motorists to conceal any valuables which they need to have with them in their vehicle. Anyone with information can contact the Gardai at 042 9388400.
