The Christmas Holdiays for the F1 In Schools Hopefuls, Infinity F1, wasn’t all waiting patiently for some snow or messing about with their new iphones or tablets.

They’ve been busy designing their car, perfecting their upcoming website , as well as getting ready for their 5 minute oral presentation and 20 page plan, all of which has to be presented this March 7th, to a group of judges at the F1 In Schools Regional Competition in Dublin.

Since their return to school after Christmas, the pressure has greatly intensified, they’re now aware of some of their competititors and have realised how high the standard really is this year. There are only two F1 In Schools teams in County Louth and the Grammar School proudly supports both of them, alongside Syndicate Racing another F1 Team from the school, Infinity have been taking part in many of the schools public events, like “Open Day” and most recently the “Christmas Fair”

The team has been working full out from when the Christmas holidays began on December 21st, “Once the holidays arrived we saw it as an opportunity to get ahead, because we all knew one thing, we’ve got work to do, and plenty of it” says Team manager Erin Maguire. Marketing and Communications Manager, Craig McHugh spent much of his time researching major and local businesses , seeking sponsorship in return for advertisement on their upcoming website, www.infinityf1.com , which will be launched in February , team uniforms, pit displays and much more. The team are fortunate enough to have gained the backing of Illy coffee, and the continuous support of The Imperial Hotel Dundalk, Martin Food and Equipment for the use of their slush puppy machine, and Print Express, who have already supplied numerous forms of printing services for the team. So will Infinity F1’s hardwork , dedication and shortened Christmas break pay off when the regionals take place in early spring? Infinity F1 as usual are seeking sponsorship for their project as funding is of great importance, and with Regional’s so close, it’s a brilliant time to make a deal!
