The award winners will be announced at a cermony on Friday 22 March at the Titantic Quarter Belfast.

The company has been shortlisted in the GreenTech category.

The Glen Dimplex company whose world headquarters are based at Dunleer have built a new research and development centre on the site of the old Bitech building at Barn Road Dunleer.

The centre will be one of the most important industrial research centres in the country.

The company has already developed a new heating system which, according to CEO Sean O’Driscol, will revolutionise electrical storage heating.

The system is called Quantum and and can be charged up at anytime over a 24-hour period. The new system will also apply to water heating and will have energy savings of 25 per cent.

The company has already made a E250,000 euro donation towards the restoration of the Old Parochial House in the centre of Dunleer.Local firm Horseware is also up for an award.
