Pupils at the Redeemer Boys School in Ard Easmuinn, Dundalk have written their very own book called ‘We are Writers’.

The book is a collection of short stories and poems and every child in the school from Junior Infants to Sixth Class has contributed toward it.

The pupils of the school have been compiling stories and poems for the book since Christmas after a book fair company asked them to do the project after visiting the school.

The project was a joint effort between all the class teachers and was liaised by Grace Costello, the Learning Supoort teacher at the school.

“All the kids are really excited to see their stories and poems published and printed in the book,” HSCL Coordinator Sinead Shields told the Democrat, “every single child in the school participated in this project and all the class teachers were involved in it too.

“The learning support teacher, Grace Costello, is responsible for joining everything together.”

The book will be available to friends and family to purchase for eight euros at the schools upcoming book fair.
