The Ardee Turfman Festival was a great success again this year with one of its art exhibitions raising money for Ardee Hospice Homecare Movement and the Ardee Daycare Centre

Each year the festival manages to cater for all tastes and one of its most successful events is the art exhibition staged by local artists who have taken up the craft under the tutorship of Rachel Thomas.

Rachel has been teaching art in Ardee and surrounding areas for several years and many have joined her classes.

“This year’s exhibition was a great success,” said Rachel.

“The sales of paintings was really wonderful.

“And like last year the people of Ardee generously supported our annual charity raffle.

“We raised €900 and donated €450 of the proceeds to the Ardee Hospice Homecare Movement and €450 to the Ardee Daycare Centre.

“We would like to thank Patrick McCabe for providing us with an excellent venue; Mother Catherine and The Sisters of Mercy Convent Ardee, for their continued support and kindness; The Ardee Turfman Festival Committee.

“Also our kind sponsors: Farrells Office Furniture, Ardee; Dealg Design Frame and Art, Ardee: Paul Martin Planning and Design Services, Ardee; Laurence Halpenny Building Contractors, Ardee; and to those who gave of their time and resources to help make this exhibition possible.

“To everyone who supported us, a very big thank you.”
