John is preparing to make his third trip to Haiti to help work on the house rebuilding programme
Haiti was destroyed in 2010 when an earthquake struck the country killing 230,000 people,
The country has yet to recover from the earthquake and subsequent diasters and is struggling to house over half a million people who live in tents under primitive conditions.
The hill walk will start at Lumpers pub in Ravensdale at 2.00pm and follows the popular and scenic Tain trail through woodland, hilltops, roads and finally over the Barnavave gap to end at the Sailing Club in Carlingford with a barbeque and evening of entertainment.
The walk will take approximately two and a half hours but most walkers can take their time to enjoy the rest stops and magnificent scenery through the heartland of Cooley and make it a full afternoon event.
The previous walks for Haiti have been well-organised and good footwear, rainwear and reasonable fitness preparation is advised.
