A UNIQUE calendar co-created by local woman Dolores Whelan which was first launched in Chicago is now available in local shops.

The calendar depicting the traditional Celtic seasons and festivals was launched in the United States at the iBAM! event last month. The calendar is a collaboration between Celtic spiritual guide and author, Dolores Whelan from Ravensdale, and US Celtic artist, Cynthia Matyi.

The visually stunning calendar celebrates the Celtic seasons – Samhain, Imbolc, Bealtaine and Lughnasadh – in elaborate pictorial detail with easy-to-follow guidelines on using the calendar and mythological meanings behind the seasons and key festival dates.

Dolores hopes the calendar will inspire people to learn more about Celtic traditions and, in turn, gain a deeper appreciation for the ancient wisdom of Celtic spirituality and its continuing relevance today.

It is now available for e12.95 via www.doloreswhelan.ie and in Carrolls’ Bookshop, Park Street; Mia Mullens’ Jewellery, Carlingford; the Carlingford Tourist Office; and Annaverna House.
