DUNDALK man Ollie O’Donoghue has launched a new martial arts school which is aimed at students who want to workout and learn some meditation techniques.

Originally from The Lisdoo area of the town, Ollie opened ‘Without Limits School of Internal & External Martial Arts’ two weeks ago.

Based in The Studios Dundalk, the classes are primarily aimed at male and female adults aged 18 plus, who have an interest in Thai boxing (Muay Thai), and stress reduction.

However, Ollie hopes to have childrens’ classes up and running next week. These classes will be aimed at children aged between six and 12-years-old; and 12 to 18-years-olds.

“I did my training in karate years ago. I started when I was six-years-old with Austin Spencer. When I was 19 I tried Thai boxing and really enjoyed it,” he said.

Ollie is now a fully qualified Muay Thai instructor, qualified under Grand Master Sken.

“I was 30 when I stopped fighting and began to learn more about the internal aspect of martial arts. In the East Thai boxers stop fighting when they are 23-years-old to concentrate on the internal. But in the West we don’t respect that. We keep fighting way past that point.”

Ollie is currently running a ladies class on Tuesday evenings from 6.30pm to 7.45pm, which is followed by a class for men from 8pm to 9.15pm. For more details call 085-7475333 or search for the Without Limits Facebook page.
