A 29 year old man who stole €300 worth of razor blades from a pharmacy in Dundalk, was sentenced to 120 hours community service at Dundalk district court last week instead of a three month sentence.
Conor Chambers with an address at Barrack Close, Dundalk admitted taking the items from McCabe’s at the Long Walk on the 27th of November 2012.
The case was adjourned until last Wednesday for a report to establish if he would be suitable.
In imposing the sentence - which had been initially indicated by his colleague Judge William Hamill, Judge Flann Brennan told Connor Chambers “Walk to the other side of the road if somebody offers you illicit drugs. Turn away and just say no”.
