Last week, th Dundalk Democrat featured Dundalk’s famous waving Santa but this week, we have a flying Santa! If you have walked down Park Street recently, you have probably noticed this flying Santa hanging outside Brubakers Bar.
The attractive feature is certainly catching the attention of Christmas shoppers.
“We wanted to have something eye catching,” said Kevin Carthy from Brubakers.
“So we went to a scrapyard and got an old Ford car.,” he explained.
“We ripped it up into pieces and cut it apart and put it all together. Then we got a teleporter and bolted it to the wall.”
In a matter of an hour, Santa and his car was finished and ready for all to see.
“The reaction has been brilliant so far,” said Kevin, “All the customers have said that it is a great feature.
“Joe.ie is an online magazine and they also covered it.
“We are bringing some cheer to Park Street. Because there is no lights on the street this Christmas, we wanted to give the street a buzz and bring it to life.”
With Christmas Eve looming, Santa will be delighted to have a head start this year before he heads out on Christmas Eve to deliver presents around the county. We’re told that he’ll park up after the festive season is over!
