Local company supplies pianos to Louth music centres

A local company has won the contract to supply new pianos to a number of music centres across the county. Precision Pianos, based in the North Link Retail Park on the Inner Relief Road in Dundalk, is to supply new pianos to Music Generation Louth music centres across the county.

A local company has won the contract to supply new pianos to a number of music centres across the county. Precision Pianos, based in the North Link Retail Park on the Inner Relief Road in Dundalk, is to supply new pianos to Music Generation Louth music centres across the county.

The music centres, based in Dundalk, Dunleer and Drogheda, took delivery of their new pianos this week.

Music Generation Louth is a music service for the county that aims to help children and young people access vocal and instrumental tuition in their local area.

One of the main aims of the service is to provide high quality tuition at affordable prices. Enrolment for piano lessons has already commenced at each centre.

Lessons are set to begin in St. Oliver’s Community College, Drogheda on 15th October and in Ardee Community School on 16th October.

Classes will also start soon in the Continuing Education Centre at Chapel St. in Dundalk, at Scoil Uí Mhuirí in Dunleer and at Bush post-primary School on the Cooley peninsula.

Lessons will take place on week days after school time.

Gemma Murray, Coordinator of Music Generation Louth said,

“Our music centres have been steadily building their stock of musical instruments over the past number of months.

The delivery of the pianos this week has provided the service with a tremendous boost.

There is a significant demand for piano lessons across the county and we are now in a position to meet this demand”.

Music Generation Louth is led by Co. Louth VEC and is part of Music Generation, a new national programme for music education initiated by Music Network with seed funding from U2 and the Ireland Funds.

It aims to help children and young people up to eighteen years of age access vocal and instrumental tuition in their local area.

Enrolment is now open for classes provided by Music Generation Louth in a range of instruments and musical styles at centres in Ardee, Dundalk, Dunleer, Drogheda and Bush.

Anyone signing up for classes with us can also avail of our instrumental hire service.

Recently a Traditional Music Group led by Zoe Conway kicked off at Bush Post Primary School.

The programme included musical arrangements created by Zoe herself.
