Peter and Margaret Finnegan of Owen Watters Food Market in Annaghvackey, Hackballscross sold a winning lottery ticket to PJ McArdle from Mounthill, Crossmaglen.

The couple travelled to the RT Studios to cheer on PJ on the National Lottery's Winning Streak TV Gameshow, which aired on Saturday, January 22.

PG, aged 22, was the biggest winner on the night. He got a chance to spin the wheel and walked away with prizes to the value of e122,900.

"When PJ stood up to spin the wheel, the atmosphere was electric. At the end when the ball stopped in the e30,000 slot there was a collective inhale," said Peter.

"Then when it dropped into the e100,000 slot, PJ's family and friends went wild. Myself and Margaret are delighted for him.

"We started doing the lottery two and a half years ago and this is our first major win. There has been a great buzz about the place since PJ's name was drawn."

Overall, the five players from Dublin, Wicklow, Cavan, Armagh and Kerry won prizes to the value of e319,600.

Peter and Margaret seem to be on a winning streak themselves as their shop won a special category award on Wednesday last. The shop won the 'Best Frozen Food' category in the XL Store of the Year Award in the competition.
