“Louth was Ireland’s first age friendly county and has led the way in developments of community co-operation since,” said Minister O’Dowd.

“In this, the European Year of Intergenerational Co-operation, it is fantastic to see Louth’s Age Friendly County programme receive a nomination for the Taoiseach’s Public Service Excellence Awards.”

Louth’s ‘Sharing The Journey’ initiative has been selected as one of 20 final awards candidates who will be showcased in Dublin Castle on June 21.
