an app developed by Dundalk-based company Climote is in the running for the global final of the Appy Awards, which will be held in San Franciso on Monday, March 19.

The Climote Remote Heating Control App allows people to access heating for their homes, small office or business from anywhere, turning a smart phone into a remote control heating device.

With the Climote App you can use your iOS or Android smartphone to set schedules and save energy and reduce your bills with just one swipe.

With Climote there are four ways to take control of your home or office heating including using a wall-mounted Climote HUB which replaces the traditional timer.

The other three options are Climote Online which provides access from anywhere; the Climote App also allows control of your heating wherever you are located; and a standard text message from your mobile will work too.

The Climote App will now go on to compete in the final stages against BMW’s Evolve App and Wifi Finder App in the Global Utility App category.

“We are very proud of this achievement. More than just providing convenience and making sure users have the right temperature at the right time, Climote also ensures that no more energy is wasted,” said Climote Ltd Managing Director Eamonn Conway.

“And if you are watching your costs, your home heating never needs to be on unless you want it to be.”
