TALK TO ME Mobile Phones will officially open their new store at Market Square this Wednesday with a series of top giveaways on the day to mark the occasion.
The local Vodafone store is the primary sponsor of the Dundalk Half Marathon and 10k Run later that evening and has used the race to coincide with the official launch of their impressive new premises at the Elgee Building.
To mark the occasion, Talk To Me – who also have stores throughout the region including in Ardee and Carrickmacross – will have a series of giveaways with 20 top of the range Nokia smartphones being given away every 10 minutes on Wednesday morning.
That giveaway coincides with the visit of the LMFM outside broadcast unit from 11am to 1pm with Pat O’Shaughnessy set to talk to staff and customers on what is sure to be a memorable day.
Speaking ahead of the opening, Talk To Me founder Hugh McEvoy encouraged as many people as possible to call into the store on the day.
“We’ll have loads of giveaways throughout the day and there will also be light refreshments in store so I’d like to invite everyone to come along to help promote the opening of our new store,” he said.
“We planned the opening purposely to run in conjunction with the marathon and hopefully there will be a great atmosphere about Market Square that day as the race is also starting just outside the store.”
Hugh said there had been a good reaction from customers to the new premises and he was confident that the area would have even greater potential when the current revamp of Market Square is completed later this year.
“Things are going well so far and hopefully the new Market Square will make a big difference to the whole area when it is opened,” he said.
“I’m confident that it will rejuvenate the whole town centre, particularly if it gets the right entertainment in, which we would hope to be a part of.”
A busy day for the staff of Talk To Me will be completed on Wednesday evening when many of them don their running gear to take part in the Dundalk Half Marathon and 10k Run and Hugh thanked each of them for doing so.
“Some of the staff are competing in the marathon on behalf of Rehab Care. My son goes there and it’s a very good cause so I’d just like to thank everyone who has supported it,” said Hugh.
Amongst the Talk To Me team lining up for the big race at 6.30pm are Hugh’s wife Majella McEvoy, area manager Yvonne Fox, store manager Fiona Hamill, Terence Sweeney, Donna Bradley, Ashley Byrne and Mary Clarke.
It promises to be a day to remember at Talk To Me. Make sure you are part of it.
