DUNDALK woman Mary Byrne’s determination to get fit so that she can take on a triathlon has been recognised by Aura Dundalk Leisure Centre which has named her as their Member of the Month.

Mary from Avondale Park is firmly on course to achieving her objective to take part in the Aura Dundalk Triathlon, which involves four lengths of Aura’s 25 metre pool, an 8km cycle on indoor bikes, followed by a 3km run on a treadmill.

Mary has been visiting the gym over four times a week in preparation for the triathlon.

Her fitness programme includes indoor cycling classes, the top to toe ‘Body Pump’ waste toning class and Aura’s ‘20-20-20’ class which is made up of a selection of cardio and core strength classes chosen from all of the classes that Aura offers its members.

“It’s great fun getting fit. People when they think of the gym think about slogging it out on tread machine. It’s not like that at Aura. Their fitness classes are the reason why I’m fit and why I can say to myself that I can do this triathlon without any problems,” said Mary.

The fitness instructors are impressed by how much Mary enjoys her fitness classes and by her positive approach to completing the Aura Dundalk Triathlon, which is due to take place at the centre in late February.
