Sten gun brothers released
TWO brothers who were arrested in Dundalk and questioned in relation to the seizure of a Sten sub-machine gun have been released without charge.
The men - who are in the 20s and 30s - were driving back to Limerick on the M1 motorway when their car was stopped by gardai in Co Louth on Thursday night last (January 20).
Gardai believe the deadly weapon would have been used in gangland crime in Limerick city. It is understood the men have links to a notorious gang in Limerick.
The brothers were detained and questioned at Dundalk Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act.
They were released without charge on Friday and a file is being sent to the DPP.
