Minister launches Action Plan for Jobs
The Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton TDwas in Dundalk last Friday for the launch of the Action Plan for Jobs 2014 in the Fairways Hotel, Dundalk.
The Minister outlined the Government’s approach to the creation of employment and heard the views and ideas of business people on what other supports they need, to protect existing jobs and create new ones.
“This is the third year of the Action Plan for Jobs,” said Minister Bruton. “
“This plan will build on the successes and measures delivered in the 2012 and 2013 plans.”
“Creating new jobs is the top priority for Government. We recognise that too many people around the country still have yet to see evidence of recovery.
“This is why the Government has designated 2014 to be the year for jobs.
“Instead of shredding jobs at a rate of 1,000 per week our economy is now creating 1,200 additional jobs each week.
Nearly all sectors are growing jobs, as are regions and importantly our growth is being built around improving competitivenesswhich supports strong exports by Irish companies and vibrant investment from foreign ones”
