Tain March
and talk
set for
Ardee
ARDEE Traders and Business Association are hosting the first leg of the Tain March on Friday 7 June.
This year’s programme for Ardee consists of a re-enactment of the battle between Cuchullain and Ferdia.
This re-enactment will be held at the Market Square, beside Library at 6:45pm.
Afterwards there will be the march to Ardee Castle for a talk by John Rafferty on the Tain followed by a powerpoint presentation by Paul Gosling with maps and photos.
The title of the presentation is Where exactly was Ath Fer Diad.
He will propose that Ath Fer Diad is more likely to have been at Dawson’s Bridge than the site presently pinpointed.
After the presentation there will be refreshments served in the aptly named Ferdia Arms.
In conjunction with the Tain March there will lots of special offers and discounts throughout the town on 7 June for Ferdia Ferdia
