The wife of the late Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe gave an emotional and heartfelt tribute to her husband as she accepted a People of the Year award on his befhalf at the CiytWest Hotel.

The wife of the late Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe gave an emotional and heartfelt tribute to her husband as she accepted a People of the Year award on his befhalf at the CiytWest Hotel.

This was the first time that Caroline Donohoe has spoken following the murder of her husband.

The mother-of-two said Adrian was the “best in the whole world,” and that he “was the best father that any child could have”.

“There was nobody like Adrian and Adrian was the love of my life and I will miss him every minute of every day as long as I live,” Caroline Donohoe.

““Coming out of the church and walking behind Adrian, I walked behind my best friend.

“And I was surrounded by my friends and that’s what kept me going,” she said.
