POLL RESULTS: Majority of Dundalk people want Irish to remain compulsory in our schools

Following a poll on our website yesterday, 56 per cent of Dundalk people said that Irish should NOT be optional in our schools.

Leaving 44 per cent preferring it to be an optional subject.

This is in sharp contract to a nationwide poll conducted by The Claire Byrne Show on RTE on Monday night, with over half of those polled wanting it to be optional.
